Bell Living Lab at TECH PLANTER Indonesia 2025

On July 26 2025, PT Kurva Lonceng Khatulistiwa (Bell Living Lab) proudly stood among the top winners at the TECH PLANTER Indonesia 2025 event, taking home not just one, but two prestigious recognitions: the Leave a Nest Award and the Japan Tobacco Award. This remarkable achievement reinforces our commitment to pushing the boundaries of material innovation through our flagship development: leather made from coffee waste.

Held in Bandung, TECH PLANTER Indonesia brought together 10 finalist teams from across the country to present their groundbreaking technologies and social innovations. The atmosphere was charged with energy as each team pitched to a panel of corporate partners and deep-tech investors. Throughout the day, the event was filled with knowledge-sharing, interactive poster sessions, and meaningful networking opportunities between startups, researchers, and ecosystem builders.

Bell Living Lab's pitch focused on transforming agricultural waste—specifically spent coffee grounds—into sustainable, stylish alternatives to animal leather. We showcased real products, including bags and lifestyle goods made with our signature material, along with our vision to scale this innovation through partnerships and circular economy models.

Why These Awards Matter

  • The Leave a Nest Award honors ventures that align with the host organization's philosophy of advancing science and technology to serve society. Winning this reflects the social and environmental relevance of our coffee leather solution.

  • The Japan Tobacco Award spotlights innovation with strong potential for real-world application, scalability, and commercial impact.

With these recognitions, Bell Living Lab has been invited to participate in the TECH PLANTER Asia Final 2025 on August 23 in Cyberjaya, Malaysia. This upcoming regional event will bring together winners from six Southeast Asian countries, as well as Japanese startup teams, for a full day of pitching, poster tours, and engagement with regional partners.

We are deeply honored by this milestone and extend our gratitude to the Leave a Nest team, Japan Tobacco, and all the partners involved. We look forward to representing Indonesia at the Asia Final and continuing our mission to build a more sustainable future—one coffee bean at a time.

Stay tuned as we take coffee leather to the next stage!

Currently Bell Process more than 2 Tons of Coffee waste a month producing 300 sqm of M-Tex every month. We Aim to create an Inclusive ecosystem so that everyone can use our sustainable solution.

We've made various kinds of product made by utilizing the materials that we produce. From fashion to furniture, we've done it all. Let's collaborate further together!
